ALTERED PLAYING CARDS 
MAILART CALL

Inspired by many artists who are altering playing cards, I got an idea to make this mailart call for all the mailartists who are familiar with this technique or are interested to try something new. I think it would be great get to know each other and swap.
Please send me 2-3 altered playing cards, include your name, adress and e-mail. I will send documentation and some of mine cards back to each participant.

Man = Hidden Tenderness

The Museum of J. Rozentals Saldus History and Art invites you to participate in mail art project „Definition: Man = Hidden Tenderness”.
We are interested how do you see hidden tenderness in man? Maybe it is all of his quintessence? Maybe we can observe it in symbolic, ekstravagance or deformed way? But maybe man’s tenderness is not so hidden, but we are just inattentive to it?

LEARN TO SWIM!

THEME: Learn to swim! The project of the Bolderaja group - an answer to those planners of Riga and politicians of Latvia who think that they can fool the floods with laws.

While politicians are trying to invent and implement schemes on how to bypass the Flood directive and create laws and regulations that would benefit the Big Port Business, people who live near the water and know how helpless they are when faced with floods, can only be given the following advice: "Learn to swim!"

SIZE/TECHNIQUE/MEDIA: Free - (video, multiples, sound work, poetry, visual poetry, objects…)

NO RETURNS, NO SALES, NO JURY

EXHIBITION - within the framework of the Latvian Contemporary Arts Center's project titled "the survival kit," on September 2009 on the main streets of Riga, in one of the shops that closed its doors due to the economic crises.
