Eduardo Munez - A Film and Mail Art Project.

Have you ever received mail for someone you don't know?

We are making a short film inspired by the wrong mail.

Eduardo Munez tells the story of a man on the edge.... And a LOT of letters!

The original lndiegogo Crowdfunding Campaign for Eduardo Munez was 104% funded on December the 6th 2015 and the film is now in pre-production. You can watch our campaign video above! If you haven't already, you can still contribute (should you want to!) as we are now an InDemand project on Indiegogo. All additional funds raised will be spent on making our film the very best it can be!

Along with the funds needed to make the film we are also collecting lots of amazing letters from around the world for use in the film as props - what we don't want is for all the mail in our film to be boring junk mail! We are looking for mail artists and snail mail lovers to get involved in our project by sending us letters which we can feature in our film! We need a LOT of them!

We are looking for letters, particularly drawn envelopes, mail art and plain envelopes - not postcards. Most importantly the letters must be addressed to Mr Eduardo Munez.
We will have to change the production office address on the front of all the letters to the fictional address of the character in the film so please leave the address section fairly clear of decoration. Some of our Mail Artists have written the address in pencil - this is really easy for us to rub out and put in the fictional address so if it doesn't interfere with the design of your envelope too much, we'd recommend this as the best option.

In our film the letters to Mr Eduardo Munez do not get opened - so inside you can write whatever you like! You can use your imagination - who do you think Eduardo Munez is? What kind of mail would he receive?!

Once shooting on the film is completed we will video the team opening all the letters we have received and having a look at their mysterious contents...! We'll provide everyone who contributes with a password protected video link to watch them all being opened! All letter writers will also receive a special thanks in the credits too...

With each letter writer's permission - we will also publish them here and on our film Facebook Page.

Calls to all creators, regardless of age, ethnicity, gender, philosophy and religion, to submit a ORIGINAL work, subject to the following idea:

THEME: TAKE1 - FILM AND MAIL ART ?

" Film, being designated as the 7th Art, translates into the technique and ability to record and reproduce images with sense of movement, the works created called Movies, are produced by recording images of the world around us, with cameras, or using animation techniques and visual effects. Mail Art has no official number that designates it, but are many who adopted it in the past and present, as a manifestation of artistic expression, like in cinema, images, concepts, or other expressions, whether visual, tactile, sound or that explore other senses are developed and shared for a specific audience.
Both Mail Art and Film share a certain longevity, being different in form but not in essence, since both are means of communication and creativity that man has at his disposal. It is this tenuous link that is purported to be explored in this Mail Art Call."

PARTICIPATION: open to all Planet Earth creators

TECHNIQUE: all techniques are allowed, provided that the holders are able to be mailed

FORMAT: max size 15x21cm (5.91x8.27in)

TERMS:

- No jury, no selection, no prizes, no returns.
- Each artist can only participate with a one work, and should provide, full name, address, nationality, email and web site if available.

- All participants must agree to the reproduction of his work in brochures or other educational material, such as public exposure of the same by the event organizers.
- All works will be exhibited, excluding racist, xenophobic and religion discriminate works.
- ATTENTION !, reproductions of works that have been sent to other Mail Art Calls or Mail Artists are NOT ACCEPT, all works must be ORIGINAL and unique, duly signed by their authors.

-To facilitate the publication of the received works on the Website/blog, please sent by e-mail a picture of it, including the envelope or shipping package if it has any artistic intervention, to:

EXHIBITION: the works will be exhibited in a space yet to be defined in Lisbon, PORTUGAL, the exhibition date is scheduled for June 2012, which might be altered, and will open to the public for a month.

Mail art call for postcards with the theme of “film/cinema,”--marquees, actors, directors, film cameras, etc.--anything within the realm of cinematography.

Technique: Any mediums of art welcome, hand-made
Postcard size: Standard
No deadline.
I will respond to all mail art received (with a clear address) with my own art postcard of the same film/cinema theme. Each piece of artwork that I send out in return will be a different, hand-made original.
