I. International "105*148 mm" Mail- and E-Mail Art Triennial - Topic: Today

 

Magdolna Barti, graphic artist - curator, in collaboration with the XVIII District Art Association, Kondor Béla Community Centre, Pestszentimre Community Centre, Képírás Online Literary and Art Magazine and MET Hungarian Electrographic Society, will organize the I. "105*148" Mail- and E-Mail Art Triennial in Budapest (HU) in 2022. We are looking for special technical solutions synthesizing new processes, original expressions, current technical and content-related problems, demanding works that characteristically present the artistic possibilities of digital and traditional techniques.

The Triennial is open to individual professional artists and students of art academia. Associations and organisations are not eligible. 

Entry fee is 4000 HUF.

Con i lavori ricevuti comporremo in segno di pace una grande, immaginaria bandiera ucraina.

Nel 2018 avevo presentato per l'inaugurazione del Museo Dinamico della Mail Art a Quiliano un'enorme bandiera della Pace. Questo atto può ritenersi quindi come un prolungamento ideale di ciò che fu fatto allora.
Sei anche invitato fin d'ora ad intervenire all'inaugurazione, di cui invieremo a tutti i partecipanti la comunicazione.

At installation level, we will realize in sign of Peace by the received works a large, imaginary Ukrainian flag.

At 2018 I presented a huge flag of Peace for the inauguration of the Dynamic Mail Art Museum in Quiliano. So this act can be considered as an ideal extension of what was done then.

You are also invited right now to attend the inauguration, of which I will send notice to all participants.

Hello everyone:)

I am opening a new mail art call. Read about mail art here. The topic is ‘Time capsule’. I invite you to create a postcard which tells us, (and to the future generations) what are the things you enjoy the most in your life. I am fascinated by each and everyone’s different personality. Whenever I meet someone, I always try to listen carefully, and instead of judging things that seem strange to me, or sound a bit out of the ordinary, I simply acknowledge that we are all different. Which is okay. It is okay to be different, and I am excited to hear from you:)

HERE ARE THE DETAILS:

It is difficult to make exact plans during this uncertain period, but I do hope I can exhibit the postcards in 2023. If I can’t make that happen, I will definitely share photos of the entries online, here on the website. In case I receive sufficient amount of postcards (around 100 pieces), I will register a proper Time capsule. The time capsule will be registered at the International Time Capsule Registry website. You can browse the map and see if there are any registered time capsules around you. Here is the home page of The International Time Capsule Society.

Uncensored free-style mail art show using the postal system as a medium. ALL submissions received by mail WILL be exhibited. ANY medium, size, shape or theme! ANYONE can enter! 

 

Mail artists typically exchange ephemera in the form of illustrated letters; zines; rubberstamped, decorated, or illustrated envelopes; artist trading cards; postcards; artistamps; faux postage; mail-interviews; naked mail; friendship books, decos and three-dimensional objects. Based on Dada and Fluxus art movements, such as by Ray Johnson from Black Mountain College, mail art can range from pop art to found objects to just about any medium. You don't need to be an artist, just embellish something and put a stamp on it and our PO address, if it makes it through the post office to us, we will exhibit your work! Don't put it in a box!!! Don't hide your art and expression! Let all who touch it experience its journey! Just stamp and mail.
